Prof. Cécile Legros, Vice-Chair

Cécile Legros was graduated Doctor in law (Ph. D) in 1999, defending a thesis on « Arbitration and triangular operations ». She became associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Rouen (Nomandy-France) in 2000. She is now and since 2010 Full Law Professor. She is the Scientific Director of the Institut du Droit International des Transports (IDIT), located in Rouen, since 2010.
She created and promoted the Master of Transport Law of Rouen University, with the IDIT, in 2004. Since 2008 the Master’s degree is now dedicated to Customs and Transport Law.

With the IDIT, she participates to several research programs on Transport Law, Customs Law, International Trade Law and Logistics, in cooperation with the Normandy Region and Nov@log, the French cluster on logistics. Ms Legros participates to the editorial committee of the review edited by the IDIT, TRANSIDIT. She is a Member of the French Commitee of International Private Law and of the French Commitee of Arbitration, in which she runs the “Arbitration and Transports” group.
Cécile Legros has published numerous papers on International Transport Law, especially on the relations between International Private Law and Transport Law. She was principal coordinator of the latest edition of Kluwer International Transport Law on French transport Law in 2012.
Her works our now dedicated mostly to the uniform interpretation of the CMR. As such she launched in 2021 the CMR Advisory Council project.
